Applied Kinesiology Services in Amarillo TX

What is Applied Kinesiology?

Applied Kinesiology is a comprehensive diagnostic technique that assesses the muscles, nerves, acupuncture system, and nutritional status to determine the cause of the problem.
Dr. Ehle’s practice has been centered around the use of Applied Kinesiology (AK) for over 30 years. AK is a technique used to evaluate structural, chemical and mental aspects of health, using manual muscle testing, along with other standard methods of diagnosis. Using AK, the doctor finds a muscle that is ‘imbalanced’, and then attempts to determine why that muscle is not functioning properly. The doctor then decides the treatment that will best restore balance to the patient’s muscles.

In practice, if someone has shoulder pain, there are about 15 muscles that make the shoulder function properly. If one or more of the muscles does not work well, the weakness will produce tendinitis and pain around the joint. Dr. Ehle tests the muscles of the shoulder to understand the specific weakness and problem. He will find the specific correction needed to strengthen the muscles and restore normal shoulder function. The muscles may need better nerve supply, so Dr. Ehle will administer a chiropractic adjustment. There may be a weak acupuncture meridian causing the muscle weakness. Stimulation will be applied to the acupuncture system to strengthen the muscle. There may be a weak and congested organ that is causing the muscle weakness (such as the liver, stomach or lungs in relating to shoulder function), and nutrients may be needed to improve the organ’s function and, thereby, improve the shoulder function. This same procedure is used for pain in the neck, lower back, hips, and knees.

Who can perform Applied Kinesiology?

AK skills are developed and approved by the International College of Applied Kinesiology Board of Standards. These skills are refined from many disciplines including Chiropractic, Osteopathy, Medicine, Dentistry, Acupuncture, Biochemistry, Psychology, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy, etc. Members of these professions share knowledge through the publications and conferences of the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK). A Doctor using AK during an examination will add a new dimension to standard diagnostics.
